Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner (Crime Prevention-South) Md Tofayel Ahmed Mia stated that National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary should be questioned regarding his recent remarks concerning crude bomb explosions in Dhaka. Patwary had previously claimed that such explosions would cease if the government accepted the NCP’s three main demands. During a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre on 25 September, Tofayel Ahmed Mia addressed inquiries about the perpetrators behind recent blasts in the capital. When asked if Patwary should be questioned about his statement, the joint commissioner replied that he should certainly be asked to explain his comments. Regarding whether police would proceed with direct questioning, Tofayel noted that the decision rests with senior police officials.
