The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the venues for the 2027 ODI World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The tournament will be played across 12 venues, with eight located in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia. It will mark the return of the 50-over World Cup to Africa for the first time since 2003.

South Africa’s venues include Johannesburg, Centurion, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl and East London. Zimbabwe will host matches in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, while Namibia’s fixtures will be played in Windhoek.

The announcement was made at a ceremony in Johannesburg attended by ICC Chairman Jay Shah and several former and current cricketers from the three host nations.

The 2027 edition will feature 57 matches and introduce a new three-stage format. Teams ranked 12th to 14th will first compete in a qualifying round, with the winner advancing to the main tournament.

The main stage will feature 12 teams divided into two groups of six. The top teams will progress to the Super Seven stage before the top four qualify for the semi-finals and final.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah said the tournament’s return to Africa after 24 years would be a landmark moment for the sport and expressed confidence that the three host nations would deliver a memorable event.
