Dhaka court orders actress to appear on 13 August over allegations of fraud and breach of trust involving an online fashion page.

A Dhaka court today (12 July) issued a summons asking actress Tanjin Tisha to appear in court in a case filed over allegations of fraud and breach of trust related to an online fashion business.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana passed the order after a hearing and fixed 13 August for the actress’s appearance.

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Advocate Salimullah Sarkar, confirmed the development.

According to the case statement, Tisha received a saree worth Tk28,800 from online fashion page Aponia after promising to promote the product and pay its price. However, she later allegedly cut off communication without fulfilling either commitment.

The case was filed by Aminul Islam, administrator of the online fashion page, accusing the actress of fraud and criminal breach of trust.

At the time of filing, the court recorded the complainant’s statement and directed the Detective Branch (DB) of police to investigate the allegations and submit a report.

The plaintiff’s lawyer said a legal notice had been served on Tisha, but she did not respond, prompting the complainant to file the case in November 2025. Following the DB investigation, the court took cognisance of the report and issued the summons.

The lawyer also said the investigation found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations.

Tisha, however, had earlier denied the accusations in a social media post, claiming that the saree had been given to her as a gift.
